I am a PhD student in history at the research center for social and economic history of the University of Zurich. I studied history, film studies, and popular culture at the University of Zurich and graduated in 2013 with a master thesis on «Adventurers are becoming extinct»: whiteness, othering and tropicality in the writings and correspondence of the Swiss Tropical School and its alumni, 1943–1981. I was a scientific assistant to Dr. Patricia Purtschert in the SNSF research project Postcolonial Switzerland from 2010–2013.
